Whilst on assignment at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney, Paul and I caught up with Peter Devenish The Team Leader at the Carlton Clydesdale stables. Nestled in the heart of Olympic Park, the Carlton Pavilion stands as a monument to almost 100 years of tradition. Complete with stables for the four legged boys and one girl and trophy cases housing harness and all kinds of memorabilia and trophies, the two storey building is truly a marvel. So we pulled up a stool, and of course, a beer, and learned a little about what Peter, Tracey, Doc, Richard, Lyndal and of course the extended families get up too on a daily basis. So why don’t you pull up a stool and a beer and enjoy some of their adventures, as we did……..... |

Mr. Irvine has studied the Heavy Horse as a lifetime’s pursuit, he has pieced together a virtual encyclopedia of information regarding these increasingly endangered creatures in some parts of the world, part of his research has encompassed the origin’s of the heavy horse. A Clydesdale and Shire Horse, Judge & Breeder, Mr. Irvine has sent Heavy Thunder Down Under a somewhat condensed version of his research.
